The new rumor floating around town is that the East Hampton Bowling Alley is on borrowed time. Apparently the mega-fitness machine known as Equinox has bought the building and is planning to put in a new mega-complex.
Now, I'm not sure what this is going to mean exactly for the other gyms around town soooo ... I'll leave it at that.
I will say I am going to miss the bowling alley. It's not that I ever went or I have any plans to go soon but I sort of loved the charm of the ole' place. I guess it was a throwback to my childhood. Sorry to say, I didn't grow up playing polo... I was more of a little league and bowling kind of guy. Love it or hate it.... It's just another example of the Guccification of the Hamptons.
